Condolence & Memory Journal

I have thought often of Charlie (Mr. Hohne to me!) ever since I left my position with Exeter in October.  He was always a breath of fresh air and brought a smile to the faces of literally every one who he interacted with, both in my office and at the hospital.  He was always a favorite patientof mine, and I very much enjoyed his visits.  He never left without giving me a bear hug and kiss on the cheek!!  (not something I would have tolerated from the vast majority of my patients, but somehow it was so endearing coming from him!)  I am so glad to have met him and pleased to have been able to help care for him over the past few years.  He taught me plenty along the way too (about insulin dosing and carb-counting most recently).  He managed to tolerate a whole lot of misery in the last months of his life with a smile on his face, which is quite a testament to his spirit.  I''ll miss his chuckle, that''s for sure!  I wish you all the best in these difficult days - he was quite a guy!

All my best-

Jennifer Jameson

Although we didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Uncle Charlie over the years, my Mom always talked so fondly about him and shared all of his adventures with us. She loved his smile and wit and always expressed how she enjoyed phone calls and visits with him over the years. Frieda will greatly miss her dear brother, and we will miss him also, but we know we’ll get to enjoy his smile and the twinkle in his eyes again someday.  You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of  loss.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. My regret is I did not get to know Mr. Hohne better. Thank you for his Service as one of the Greatest Generation.

Uncle Charlie was dearly loved by all of us. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with Charlie. We all enjoyed his wit, laughter, and positive attitude. Charlie was quick to lend a hand and help when it was needed.

I appreciated the time he spent with me and my family while I was in the hospital.

Charlie was a fellow aerospace professional and as an aerospace professional I wanted to make sure I took him to see a Space Shuttle launch. Charlie was so excited to witness a launch with us. I know he enjoyed seeing it and we all enjoyed sharing the experience with him.

Charlie and I became good friends for a long time. I would take him to lunch whenever I was in Orlando and had some time to spend with him. Uncle Charlie relished his freedom, independence and had a zeal for life. I know we will all miss him. I know I will certainly miss his laughter, wit and friendship. I feel fortunate to have known him. A part of him will always be with us. One day I''ll get to see him again I''m sure.

What a rich and full life Charlie led! His example inspires me to be bold when faced with a new adventure. I am truly honored to be a part of the team continuing the legacy he started at DataCode. I am sure he will be missed greatly, and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
